About Me

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

Exploring and expressionism

The topic of my artistic endeavours is primarily characterized by the act of recycling and the circle of life. Even from an early age, I have always tried to “extend the expiration date” of different object when I tried to refurbish and transform them into something new, whether they were worn out trousers, a backpack or a tattered piece of furniture. It is essential that in a world, saturated by scrap and rubbish, we raise the awareness of the public about the importance and the limitless potential of reusable materials through which we are able to raise an object’s aesthetic value and function. That in turn can potentially lead to a reduced need to manufacture new products.

My primary concern, however, is currently not the end product, but the research into various materials. I evaluate their properties and boundaries, treatment methods and interconnection. Due to my fascination with their properties, I am especially interested in combining glass with metal. Glass is fragile, translucent and mystical. Metal, however, is solid, raw and physical. This contrast reminds me of the two sides of personality traits, which I personally try to balance. And this inspires me to ceaslessly find new subtle approaches to merge two materials into one whole entity.

I admire slightly raw, unprocessed products, which could in turn be compared to me as a person. Especially because nothing in this world is perfect. I find imperfection, incompleteness exciting, full of future inspiration, growth prospects and further development. This is why each and every one of my works epitomizes the idea of something new, different. I also have an incline toward the concept of the wabi-sabi aesthetic, which focuses on the beauty of the imperfect, the impermanent and the incomplete.

My creations inlcude everything from abstractions to very illustrative representations. Even though I have a primal temperament, I am at the same time a very ilustrative person. The focus of my life is sensibility, which is apparent in my work with materials, where I prefer to follow my instincts, as well as in playing instruments, where I more often than not go with the flow.

Nevertheless, I always incorporate my own interpretations into the products I create, mainly because I realise that no one has the same view of the world as I do. I am always intrigued by listening and observing the reactions to my creations and see what kind of emotions, thoughts they prompt in others.

Another train of thought I often incorporate in my art is the ethereal, symbolical aspect of everything that surrounds me. Throughout the process of creative activity I can namely find out more about myself. Each piece transfers the energy of momentary feelings, thoughts and processes, which take place inside me. As my thoughts have taken form througout the years, so have my creations taken shape.
